Session Abstract:

(i) Enforcing trust in Blockchain – Audit Considerations

While the used cases of block chain is increasing rapidly, businesses are striving hard to adopt this new technology of a consensus driven distributed digital ledger, which promises all parties to be in sync with every transaction and removes the need for reconciliation. But little deliberated are the risks involved in this technology. Starting from permission-less block chain which could bring in anonymous parties which increase the risk of unsolicited transactions to smart contracts, that could be vulnerable to cyber-attacks, the risk requires an introspection

(ii) IT vs OT – GRC Perspective

Historically Operational Technology (OT) Systems which were traditionally associated with manufacturing and industrial environments, industrial control systems (ICS) such as supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), were isolated from information Technology (IT). But in this era of Industry 4.0 and the rise in Big Data, Analytics, AI and IoT, there is an increasing need to integrate IT with OT. This has therefore created a need to understand these two technologies, the need to integrate them, and understand the risks and challenges
