Speaker Bio:
Major General Dr. Emad El-Din Helmy is a prominent figure and expert in the fields of engineering, telecommunications, and cybersecurity.
After a distinguished career in the Egyptian Army as a Field Engineer, he retired with the rank of Major General.
He then transitioned to the private sector, serving as a board member at the Egyptian Company for Tracking & Information Technology (ETIT), and later as a Project Manager.
Subsequently, he joined the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA), where he held several vital leadership positions:
Cyber Security Resilience Executive Director.
Sector Head of Operation Quality.
Head of Cybersecurity Risk & Resilience Bureau, where he worked diligently to build operational and inspection capacities to ensure the security of ICT devices and systems, fostering trust in Egypt's critical ICT infrastructure through a "Defense in Depth" strategy.
Head of Cybersecurity Governance, Risk & Compliance.
Chief of Cybersecurity Experts.
Additionally, he is a member and lecturer at several high-level military academic institutions, a certified trainer with the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), and a member of the Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA) Forum.
Currently, he serves as an Advisor and Technical Consultant at ETIT Company.
He will provide valuable insights into Egypt's ongoing efforts to enhance its digital infrastructure and protect its cybersecurity, along with an overview of the latest developments in implementing best practices for Governance, Risk, and Compliance in these vital fields.
