Finding your Why – Using SABSA Security Architecture to understand Business Drivers

Implementing an enterprise approach to information security that is risk based, follows a ‘secure by design’ approach to securing systems, and aligned to business drivers, is often a challenging undertaking in enterprises. The security architectural framework, SABSA (which is an international standard), was developed to address these challenges.

Ed leads the Downer Defence Security Practice which supports their Government and Critical Infrastructure clients offer secure citizen services such as Security, Transportation and Utilities.  A passionate advocate for business-driven technology outcomes, Ed listens and engages with these organisations to help them with risk-proportionate cybersecurity to enable their business to be more successful.

Prior to Downer, Ed was listening to Government, Telecommunications and Enterprise clients to help them solve complex business and technical challenges.  Beginning his career at the turn of this century as a Network Engineer, Ed has also helped to bring broadband Internet to the public with the first commercial residential broadband service.
