Speaker: Greg Lewis
Bio:
Greg Lewis is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in IT. He currently works for CampusGuard as a Security Advisor where he consults and assesses with Colleges and Universities throughout the US. He is responsible for analyzing business processes, reviewing IT system security, and helping schools assess compliance and identify security gaps.
Greg has a diverse IT background which started as a desktop field technician, progressing to a system admin, turning into an IT consultant and then a Federal IT Contractor. Greg’s passion for security is what brought him to CampusGuard as a Security Advisor.
Having spent over 7 years specializing in InfoSec, his love for security is shown when interacting with his customers. Before joining CampusGuard, Greg worked for Nelnet, AT&T, and SRA International. Ten of his twenty-five years in IT were spent as a Federal IT Contractor with positions at the IRS, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the Pentagon. His information security background includes NIST Cybersecurity Framework assessments, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) compliance, tabletop exercises and CMMC program guidance. Greg enjoys working with his customers to help them achieve their cybersecurity goals and brings a hands-on approach to operational efficiencies. In addition to cybersecurity, he has a deep knowledge of Higher Education operations, Security Operation Centers and Department of Defense requirements.
A few key accomplishments:
- Deployed Top Secret IT systems for the National Military Command Center in the Pentagon Renovation Program
- Developed operational efficiencies for a large Security Operations Center (SOC)
- Assisted in the creation of organizational policies for a mid-size medical college.
