Synopsis:
This presentation introduces threat modeling as a proactive approach to identifying assets, vulnerabilities, threats, and risks before they can be exploited. It walks through the core threat-modeling process, key questions to ask, and common methodologies such as PASTA, STRIDE, and VAST. The session helps teams better understand what can go wrong, how to prioritize mitigations, and how to strengthen overall security posture.

About the Speaker:

Drew Brown is a resourceful cybersecurity leader with over 20 years of information technology experience developing solutions with small businesses, Fortune 500 companies, and government agencies combining systems knowledge, critical thinking, and business skills to shape culture and guide change. Engages executive leadership through storytelling to clearly communicate technical topics. Drew has been practicing quantitative risk analysis using FAIR for 5years in state and federal government agencies. Drew holds the ISACA CRISC, CISM, and CISA certifications as well as CISSP. Drew has been the Chief Information Security Officer for multiple state agencies in Pennsylvania. He currently resides in Indiana with his family. Recently Drew founded Kartero cybersecurity consulting.
