Security Frameworks: NIST CSF as an Enabler & Incident Response Approach (May 2020 Chapter Meeting)

Summary:
Picking the right framework is more a matter of weaving sometimes disparate methods to build a strategic whole. During this session we will review how NIST CSF can complement other security governance and control frameworks, its key objectives and components and specifically how adopting this methodology to building cybersecurity in your organization can greatly enhance your organization's ability to respond to threats and assaults.

Speaker: Shawn Sines, CISSP

Speaker Bio:
Shawn Sines is a seasoned information security professional who has diverse experience. He held positions as a U.S. Marine, and as an information security leader and architect in multiple industries including higher education, government, manufacturing and non-profits, and technology consulting. Shawn managed and led IR team investigations for numerous organizations and enjoys leveraging his people and relationship management skills as the technical translator from the security function to executive leadership. His recent career focus was on building and refining effective security program strategies, security architecture and designing organization oriented security solutions (technical and non-technical).

Shawn is an active public presenter in the Central Ohio Information Security community over the last decade. He formerly served as the President for the Central Ohio (ISC)² chapter (SecurityMBA) and is presently the Secretary for the Central Ohio ISSA chapter.
