Summary:
With increasing privacy regulations, increasing penalties, and increasing complexity in IT infrastructures, companies are often unsure of the steps to take to address the control and use of personal and private information. This presentation will include a general discussion on the standards, approaches, solutions, and challenges to managing information privacy.

Speaker Bio:
Shawn Laher is an IT consultant with over 20 years of experience in IT support, risk, security, and compliance. Shawn has worked in government, enterprise, and small business environments to assist clients in ensuring that their governance, risk, and compliance frameworks are effective, efficient, and sensible. Shawn is an analyst at heart, who naturally evaluates processes and systems, and sees the improvement opportunities within them. With an enthusiasm for IT and continuous learning, Shawn enjoys assisting others in finding ways to best understand, utilize, and manage technology.
