ISACA Chicago- Ways to help Ukraine

Dear ISACA Chicago Members,

Our thoughts are with our fellow ISACA members in Ukraine and in the ISACA Kyiv Chapter. We are deeply saddened to see the attacks on their country.

ISACA Global contacted chapter leaders to let us know that ISACA stands with the Cyber Rapid Response Team sponsored by the EU’s Permanent Structured Cooperation defense and security initiative as an aid to Ukraine, and they stand with the governments condemning these attacks.

As an immediate expression of support and to help fund medical aid on the ground in Ukraine, ISACA Global made a donation to the International Committee of the Red Cross.

If you are interested in lending support, below are a few options to consider. It is recommended you review all information about an organization before proceeding.

  • Nova Poshta: https://novaposhta.ua/eng/ — Launched the "Humanitarian Nova Poshta" project to deliver humanitarian aid to charitable organizations and volunteer fighters in Ukraine. This organization was recommended by the vice president of the Kyiv Chapter. Note: Nova Poshta has global warehouses in the US and Europe.
  • Global Giving: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/ukraine-crisis-relief-fund/ — From their site: “All donations to the Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund will support humanitarian assistance in impacted communities in Ukraine and surrounding regions where Ukrainian refugees have fled.”
  • International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC): https://www.icrc.org/en/donate/ukraine — From the site: “The International Committee of the Red Cross - together with its partners in the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement – remains active in Ukraine, saving and protecting the lives of victims of armed conflict and violence.” As an immediate expression of support, and to help fund medical aid on the ground in Ukraine, ISACA Global made a donation to the ICRC.

Additionally, ISACA has made several resources free as the threat of cyberwarfare escalates. You can read more about that and access those resources at https://www.isaca.org/resources/news-and-trends/isaca-now-blog/2022/volatile-times-call-for-heightened-cybersecurity-preparedness.

Our Ukrainian members are in the thoughts of the ISACA staff, board of directors, our Chicago chapter, and our entire global ISACA community.

Best regards,
