All IT development projects are inherently uncertain. They are temporary, unique initiatives built on assumptions, constraints, and diverse stakeholder expectations. While project management provides structure through planning, controls, and governance, risks often remain hidden until they impact delivery.
PrinceAlert is a practical and holistic approach to risk management that focuses on identifying weaknesses in the project control environment early. It is based on the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and recognizes that each stage of development is exposed to specific and recurring risk factors. By using a structured set of commonly observed risk factors, PrinceAlert helps project teams anticipate issues before they become problems.
Aligned with the PRINCE2 risk management philosophy, PrinceAlert embeds risk awareness into everyday project management rather than treating it as a standalone activity. Addressing risks early strengthens control, improves decision-making, and increases the likelihood of successful project outcomes.
Participants will receive a copy of the PrinceAlert booklet.
