Security and Controls in Amazon Web Services (AWS)

The proliferation of hosting services in today's online environment brings up certain risks to those hosting or using those services.  Amazon Web Services (AWS) is one of the largest services today.  Please join us for a discussion of the security and controls available for those using AWS.

• Discuss common control expectations for users of AWS Cloud

Presented by: 

Nina Currigan is a partner in KPMG’s Technology Assurance practice, which focuses on providing IT audit, system implementation assessments, and Service & Organization Control (SOC) readiness and reporting services to clients across all industries. Included within Nina’s client base are several organizations who are either currently transitioning to or using Agile/DevOps software development methodologies. Nina has experience leading teams in developing audit programs for these types of methodologies through balanced, risk-based approaches.   
Andrew Benitez is a Director in KPMG’s Audit practice in the Denver office. Andrew comes from an extensive technical background with a solid understanding of business processes and controls and experience in cloud security. Andrew has over 14 years working on numerous attestation, advisory, and consulting engagements. He maintains a broad range of knowledge in internal/external audit, compliance attestation, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Andrew is a Certified Information Systems Auditor, and a graduate from Brigham Young University.
Sailesh (Sai) is a Partner in KPMG’s Technology Risk practice with over two decades of Information Technology  (IT) risk, cybersecurity and management advisory  experience. His current and past clients include some of the leading entities in healthcare, insurance, consumer goods, retail, banking, investment management, and energy. Sai led the incubation of KPMG’s Cloud Risk Consulting  offerings in the United States and is the architect of KPMG’s global Cloud Governance and Controls Assessment (CGCA) methodology.
