Regis University is seeking volunteers for the 2025 Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (RMCCDC). They are seeking Gold Team members (scorers) and Observer Team members. The Gold Team scores the business injects results submitted by the teams, and the Observers observe the teams during the competition to ensure they are following the rules.
The Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (RMCCDC) is a well-established competition that provides collegiate teams an opportunity to test their cybersecurity knowledge and abilities. This is Regis University’s fourteenth year as Rocky Mountain regional host of competitors from Kansas, Utah, Nebraska and, of course, Colorado. This year the event will be held in Denver at Regis University's Main Campus. The winning team represents the Rocky Mountain region at the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition.
Contestants work as a replacement security operations team at a fictitious company that is under attack by an adversary, the Red Team. RMCCDC specifically focuses on the operational aspect of managing and protecting an existing “commercial” network infrastructure. The competition provides competing universities and colleges with a measure of the strength of their curriculum. Students find out how they do against long odds and intense pressure. This allows our sponsors (employers) an opportunity to search for future security, network, and systems engineers.
The qualifying event will be held on February 1, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Mountain Time. The qualifier will be virtual, and the teams will compete from their respective universities. You will be able to score and observe the teams remotely from the comfort of your homes.
The actual RMCCDC will be held on March 7-8, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Mountain Time both days.
The teams will come to Regis University Main Campus on March 7-8, 2025, for the actual RMCCDC and will compete virtually from the main campus. The Gold Team and Observer Team will come on-site and score and observe the competition on both days.
Summary:
February 1st - RMCCDC Qualifier (Gold and Observer Teams scores and observes remotely)
March 7th and 8th - RMCCDC (Gold and Observer Teams scores and observes Onsite).
Volunteers will be awarded a “Certificate of Completion” by Regis University for reporting CPE.
