Enterprises today need to do much more than just defend their digital assets. Defense is necessary, but not sufficient in a hyperconnected, API-driven, AI-augmented world. Enterprises must actively monitor, hunt threats, and anticipate emerging risks (zero-day exploits, supply chain vulnerabilities, AI-generated attacks).
On one hand, regulators (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, AI Act) expect not just “defense” but governance, transparency, and accountability. On the other hand, customers expect trust—secure handling of their data, ethical AI usage, and privacy-by-design. Furthermore, enterprises can’t treat data only as something to “defend.” They must unlock value from data while ensuring sovereignty, residency, and compliance. This includes secure data sharing, APIs-AI-driven analytics, and privacy-preserving innovations that are compliant with regulations. Amid this, enterprises cannot afford to ignore cultural & human factors. Enterprises must train, educate, and build shared accountability for security and compliance across all departments.
In this workshop, renowned Open Source, API & AI strategist, Baljeet Malhotra will present "An Offensive-Defensive Digital Strategy”, which essentially means enterprises stop thinking of cybersecurity as a “lock and key,” and instead treat it as a two-sided playbook: defend what they have while going on offense by anticipating, innovating, and outpacing threats in their digital ecosystems.
Attendees will gain insights into API and AI supply chains, cross-border data flows, compliance obligations (e.g., GDPR, CPRA), and the ethical and legal implications of AI-driven systems. Through real-world use cases and interactive discussions, this workshop will empower technical leaders, legal professionals, and policymakers to make informed decisions to promote innovation while managing risks.
