The State of Digital Privacy - A legal and practical perspective
Speaker 1: 1:00 pm - 2:50 pm Rich Spilde 

Rich Spilde is a Partner in Holland & Hart’s Boulder office with a practice focused on technology, outsourcing and offshoring, telecom transactions, and data security matters.  Rich’s data security and privacy  practice includes advice and counseling on matters related to the Cable Communications Policy Act, PCI-DSS, PA-DSS, COPPA, the GDPR, the CCPA, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and individual state data protection and breach notification laws; data breach incident response, remediation, notification and compliance; Terms of Service and Use, Privacy Policies, and EULAs; support on data security matters in day-to-day operations and as these arise in transactions, including data collection, vendor oversight, and information security standards compliance and audit; and drafts policies, protocols, and practices tailored to address the privacy and security needs of individual clients.

Speaker 2: 3:10 pm-5:00 pm Richard Staynings

Richard Staynings is a globally renowned thought leader, author, public speaker and advocate for improved cybersecurity across the Healthcare and Life Sciences industry. He serves as a board member of AEHIS – (the Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Security) and on the International HIMSS Privacy and Cybersecurity Committee where he has assisted hundreds of health systems globally in their cybersecurity risk management transformation efforts.

A recovering CIO, CISO, & CTO, Richard currently serves as Chief Security Strategist for Cylera, a New York based Healthcare IoT Security Innovator.

With more than 25 years’ experience of both cybersecurity leadership and client consulting in healthcare, Richard has lived in over 30 countries and helped deliver innovative solutions to organizations in all of them. Some of his global successes include work for: Amgen, Cisco, CSC, PwC, Intel, Microsoft, and Zurich Financial, to name a few.

After spending many years based out of the UK, Australia and various parts of Asia, Richard has for the past 20 years been based here in Colorado. When he’s not flying between clients and conferences, Richard enjoys most things between mountaineering and scuba diving. Although he doesn’t get to spend a lot of time at home, Richard is active in the local Denver-Boulder community and serves on several local boards in a pro-bono capacity.
