The PCI Council and global payment security standards
The PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) is a global forum that brings together payments industry stakeholders to develop and drive adoption of data security standards and resources to help protect the people, processes, and technologies across the payment ecosystem and to help secure payments worldwide.
This ISACA Professional Development Session will provide an introduction into what the PCI Council does and a quick overview of some of the PCI standards, including how PCI DSS v4.0 can be adopted to safeguard payment and non-payment data. Attendees will also learn how they can influence industry standards that are adopted by organisations around the world.
Speaker Profile
Mr. Cheng Yew Kuann is the Regional Vice President of PCI Security Standards Council in the Asia Pacific region. Yew Kuann, or YK for short, has more than 20 years of experience in risk management, payments and cybersecurity. He leads PCI engagement activities in the region, and is based in Singapore.
Before joining the Council, Yew Kuann has been with a variety of organisations including a fintech, a consulting firm and notably, 15 years at Visa’s Asia Pacific Risk Management Department where he supported some of the largest acquirers in the region on risk-related matters including PCI DSS compliance.
He is well-versed in payment technologies, fraud management processes and tools and, of course, how PCI standards can be used to safeguard the payment ecosystem.
