APIs are an integral element in digital transformation that helps the integration of software services together from various domains such as banks, healthcare, retail, transportation, IoT, autonomous vehicles and smart cities. Due to the complexity of the development of business logic, the security of the APIs is often overlooked by developers, leading to data breaches, API exploits, and API misuses. These APIs have increasingly become a target for attackers. In this session, we will be looking at integrating security elements into the APIs you develop using the industry recommended best practices
Tharindu is a Ph.D. research scholar at La Trobe University Australia, Prior to that he worked at WSO2 as a lead in the Platform Security Team. He is also a visiting lecturer at Monash and Deakin University on Cyber Security.
