Topic: Usability + Security: Towards a people centric approach

Security is often perceived as a hindrance to the effective use of Information Systems. However, security when positioned complementary to usability amasses key strides in addressing security risks and threats. In this workshop, we will explore the topic of effectively designing usable secure systems. Working with collaborative online tools we will identify common security scenarios and explore ideas and design solutions from a people-centric perspective. The workshop’s aim is to build an awareness of the role of users in the design of secure systems. It will introduce participants to collaborative methods of designing secure systems.
