Agile-Scrum, Devops and Compliance by Design

Disruptive technology is not new; however, the speed of the disruption is ever increasing.  For example, the Printing Press developed in the middle of the 15th century, and it took nearly 200 years before it’s information power reached the masses.  Fast forward to 2000, it’s a Friday night, and Blockbuster is the place to be; but by 2010, Blockbuster was in bankruptcy.  Disruption is now 200 weeks, that is the speed of business our organizations face today … 200 weeks.

What are we doing to enable our organizations to move at the speed of business and still be compliant with the applicable laws and regulations?  How can we, as IT Audit and Risk professionals, enable the speed of business and still demonstrate accuracy, completeness, validity and restricted access?  The answer is to shift away from “bolting on” and move towards “baking in.”

Finding Harmony and Balance between the Agile Accelerator and the Brakes of your DevOps Processes -- Can software delivery in a highly governed industry reap the benefits of Agile and DevOps while maintaining required compliance? A substantiated DevOps program takes advantage of the technology by “baking in” the controls as part of the Agile workflow methodology.

We are in need of next-generation governance. The demands on business to move faster is challenging the "traditional" audit methodologies. How can auditors ever be able to verify the compliance of a complex, dynamic enterprise deployment, if that deployment is subject to change at any time — unless they are able to automate the audit process itself?

Learning Objectives:
After completing this course you will be able to:

  • Understand governance as an enabler of agility
  • Develop non-burdensome ways to collect data
  • Building governance in rather than 'bolting on'
  • Focus on a risk-based governance approach

The Future of IT Audit and Industry 4.0

Your enterprise is adopting emerging technologies at record speed and grappling with the opportunities and pitfalls of digital transformation. As a result, IT auditors are needing to add new approaches, skills and expertise at record speeds as well. With Industry 4.0 and the exponential change it is driving, auditors must remain relevant and valued partners in their organizations. ISACA Board Director, Pam Nigro, will explain how traditional audit roles will be realigned with how businesses are operating, and how auditors can reposition themselves as key leaders and influencers who can guide their organization’s IT audit program into the future – and ahead of the threats.
