ISACA members, chapters and staff are eagerly gearing up for our second annual ISACA CommunITy Day on 3 October 2020. Last year more than 2,800 volunteers served more than 6,100 hours improving their local communities in 51 countries over the course of one global day of service. Our chapter has selected Harvesters and with COVID restrictions, we will have a few options posted in Helper Helper so you can safely participate and serve the Greater Kansas City area.
If you want to volunteer on 3 October for an organization that is not listed or make a donation to a charity of your choice, simply select “Add Past Commitment” from the Helper Helper menu and enter 3 October 2020 to log your hours or note your donation.
We want to include your great work in our global impact.
We realize that the world is facing challenging times right now and that uncertainty can lead to feeling helpless. Community engagement in events like this empowers you to make a difference and to do so safely and in a way in which you are most comfortable.
Many chapters are still posting small group or virtual activities, and we have shared a few global opportunities that you and your friends and family can do independently.
Share your activities with us on social media using #ISACACommunITyDay so we can not only celebrate your accomplishments and goodwill but also track the activities around the world from New Zealand to Hawaii on 3 October. T-shirts are available for purchase too. We hope to get those out as soon as we can.
Finally, I want to congratulate and celebrate the 2019 participants whose efforts were recognized with a 2020 ASAE Power of A Gold Award for ISACA CommunITy Day, acknowledging the positive impact associations like ISACA can have in advancing our members, our profession and our society.
