Evaluating Assurance from Service Organizations and Third Parties.
Facilitated by Beni Venkatesan, Kearney and Company is pleased to present a panel discussion consisting of the following professionals: Phil Moore, Franz Inden, Colin Finley and Ben Taylor with a broad knowledge of third-party reports evolving from a SAS-70 to SSAE-16 to SSAE-18 and in 2022 SSAE-21. The panel will cover the general purpose of a SOC report, key differences and similarities within the AT standards, who the key parties are (e.g. service and user auditor versus service and user organization) and their responsibilities.

Lessons Learned from Data Act
Throughout the process of implementing the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (Data Act) of 2014, federal agencies have accumulated some important lessons about the sources and quality of information they rely upon for decision making and reporting. This panel will provide insights and lessons learned from navigating the process of implementing and complying with the Data Act, especially how this process had shaped and influenced management decision making, relationships between shared service providers and customers, and technology decisions. and their responsibilities.

MEET THE MODERATORS

Beni Venkatesan
Senior Manager, Kearney & Company
Beni Venkatesan is an IT Assurance Practice Senior Manager at Kearney & Company. Mr. Venkatesan has over 16 years of professional Information Technology (IT) assurance, financial, and consulting experience, including work in both civilian and defense federal agencies. He currently directs and oversees several FISMA and FISCAM-based audits. Previously, Mr. Venkatesan led SAS 70s/SOC1s/SOC2 at a number of federal agencies to include DISA, DFAS, and DOI. Mr. Venkatesan is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Mr. Venkatesan attended Harding University where he received a BBA Accounting with a Minor in Information Technology.

Scoey Alexander
Senior Manager, Sehlke Consulting LLC
Scoey Alexander is a Senior Manager with Sehlke Consulting LLC. Ms. Alexanders has over 14 years of experience with information technology and global business environments as VP of Finance, Controller, and an Assurance and Advisory Consultant. Ms. Alexander has assisted the federal government on the topics of internal controls, business processes management, information technology audit, software development lifecycle, risk management, governance and strategy, program management, and financial system modernization. Ms. Alexander is a CPA, CISA, Program Management Professional (PMP), and Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
