2021 New Year Message from President

Season Greetings and Happy Holidays to everyone. It’s been a challenging year and I’m sure everyone is looking forward to a better 2021. Before we look to the upcoming year, I would like to recap 2020 for the Huntsville ISACA Chapter. I’m proud to announce that our chapter is continuing to grow, and we have surpassed 200 members this year.  Our chapter has also figured out a way to continue operating during the coronavirus pandemic by providing education and training in the virtual environment. COVID-19 has thrown several monkey wrenches into our processes and procedures, but I was always told “What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.” So, as we look to the future, we will use our lessons learned from 2020 to make a better and brighter 2021.

Our plan for 2021 is to provide in-person and virtual events to provide value and flexibility to our members. In 2021 our chapter is planning on providing quarterly training events, such as CISA or CISM prep, or RMF and CMMC training. The chapter will continue to provide our virtual monthly Lunch-n-Learn events, with the plan to meet in person once COVID guidelines allow for group meetings.

We would also like to welcome and introduce everyone to our new ISACA Board Members: Irene Goan as the new Programs Director; Jackie Blue as the new Membership Director; and Janice Dyer as the new Communications Director. I would also like to thank our past directors Dr. Janet Willisson and Dr. Calvin Benjamin for their long service and support to our chapter.

It truly has been a pleasure working with everyone on the board, and I would like to thank the members for their support and wish everyone a Happy New Year.
