2022 Elections List of Positions

  
ISACA Huntsville members and community colleagues, the following positions are currently available for this year's elections. Please take the time to review the positions descriptions and feel free to enter nominations in your name or to nominate others at nominations@isaca-huntsville.org.

Please remember to provide email, phone # or social media profile to contact your nominees. The nomination committee will review and contact each submission.

Chapter President

The chapter president is the executive head of the chapter and is usually seen by the membership and the community as the local representative of ISACA. The president ensures chapter activities and efforts provide professional and personal growth for the members, as well as chapter sustainability.

The chapter president executes the policies and decisions of the chapter board by:
•  Ensuring chapter board policies are followed;
•  Taking executive action where/when specific policies have not been written or established;
•  Leading the annual strategic planning process to identify goals and objectives for the chapter, ensuring those align with ISACA’s global mission and initiatives; and
•  Establishing a chapter calendar, including target dates for task completion.

Vice-President
The chapter vice president is the co-lead of the chapter and usually is seen by the membership and the community as the local representative of ISACA. You will assist the chapter president in directing the chapter activities and efforts to ensure professional and personal growth for the membership, as well as chapter sustainability. The chapter vice president reports to the chapter president.

Marketing Director

Major Responsibilities 
• Assesses third parties for eligibility of sponsorship by the chapter. 
•  Serves as a liaison with third parties that request chapter sponsorship or advertising of their events to the chapter membership. 
•  Responsible for assisting with publicity for chapter events and, as deemed appropriate by the chapter board, for interacting with media contacts to obtain coverage of chapter events.
Marketing Assistance Program (MAP)
Each year, ISACA Global has an open enrollment period for chapters to opt-in to the MAP. Participating chapters are given these funds from ISACA Global to aid them in promoting ISACA and growing their chapter. In early December, an email will be sent to you, as well as the chapter president, vice president, and administrator, informing you of the opportunity to opt-in to participate in this program (simply by completing the Opt-In Form by 31 December). 

The ISACA Marketing Storefront is a central location where chapters can access ISACA marketing materials to help promote ISACA, such as membership, certifications, COBIT, SheLeadsTech, and CSX.  The marketing director is responsible for placing orders in the ISACA Marketing Storefront for any materials needed.


Other Opportunities to Serve
The following positions, are not currently under this year's election roster. However, if you would like to summit nominations, they can be added to the roster based on interest from willing nominees.


Webmaster/Site Administrator
Major Responsibilities

  • Add events and manage event registration. (Required for chapter compliance.)
  • Edit the hosted website content (if your chapter is using an Engage hosted site) and any alternative chapter site the chapter has created. 
  • Organize the chapter library, including creating folders for documents available only to your chapter members.

Academic Relations

The academic relations chair/coordinator serves as the liaison to local colleges and universities. This individual also makes recommendations regarding sponsorship of college activities and may represent the chapter on committees for joint events.

The academic relations program serves to:

  • Enhance the image of ISACA as a leader in IT governance, control and assurance space.
  • Increase awareness and interaction between academia and practitioners.
  • Introduce educators/students to all that ISACA has to offer including certification programs. COBIT, and career tools and resources.
  • Increase awareness and opportunities available within the professions ISACA serves.
  • Increase/attract students to the professions ISACA serves.
  • Increase awareness and interest about IS audit, security, cybersecurity, control and IT governance research.

Government Relations and Advocacy
The Government Relations and Advocacy Director promotes the value of ISACA members, credentials, and products to the public sector focusing on government agencies, elected officials, policy makers, and regulatory bodies.
 
The government relations program serves to:
  • Enhance the image of ISACA as a leader and expert in IT governance, control and assurance space.
  • Increase awareness and interaction between policy makers and practitioners.
  • Introduce policy makers to all that ISACA has to offer including certification programs. COBIT, and career tools and resources.
  • Keep ISACA chapters informed of developments in credential-related legislations and regulations.
  • Engage members in public consultations.

Major Responsibilities
  • Set and implement at government relations strategy that is aligned to ISACA Global’s government relations strategy.
  • Acts as liaison between ISACA Global Government Relations (Emily Bastedo) and the chapter.
  • Assess and determine the areas of regulation and legislation which could have an impact on the chapter, ISACA credentials, and/or ISACA members.
  • Identify and contact government officials to speak at chapter meetings, training programs, and conferences.
