Background: CMMC 1.0 is following in the footsteps of DFARS 252.204-7012 and as defense contractors we all have to step up our processes and technical configurations to meet both requirements. This presentation will provide the necessary background to understand the current state of CMMC Level 3 and the differences between it at the existing NIST 800-171 requirements.

Speaker Bio:
- Scott Edwards is President and Managing Partner for Summit 7 Systems, a professional services organization focused on Security, Compliance, Cloud Migration and Managed Services on the Microsoft platform including Azure and Office 365.
- Scott has served in numerous roles throughout his career including as a Signal Officer in the US Army, Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager for the NASA Datacenter with SAIC, and in 2008 he started Summit 7 Systems.
- Scott's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the United States Military Academy, West Point, and a Master of Science in Computer Science (Information Assurance) from the National Security Agency program at James Madison University.
