When:  Dec 12, 2022 from 11:30 to 13:00 (CT)
Associated with  Huntsville Chapter

Topic:  Getting Off on the Wrong RAMP – Deconflicting Emerging Compliance Regulations
Speaker: Jeremy B. Blevins
CPE Hours: 1

Background: There are several Risk and Authorization Management Program (RAMP) programs that an organization may need to comply with and ascertaining the correct one can be challenging initially. Changes to various state and Federal regulations require organizations to either dedicate resources to stay on top of the changes or to hire outside consultants to perform the task. This presentation addresses these challenges and provides a summary of each of the RAMPs to help organizations determine which solution is best for their offerings.

Lessons Learned: Background: Many CSPs may find themselves without an internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) to aid them in making the right turn with regard to the different compliance and regulatory issues they face. 3PAOs are good sources of information when trying to navigate the RAMPs. While they are in the business of making a profit on their services, a CSP might ultimately save money by establishing a clear roadmap to determining their compliance requirements.

Learning Objectives:

  • Quick History of Cloud Computing
  • FedRAMP/ StateRAMP/ TX-RAMP Overview
  • Reciprocity Between the Programs
