Topic

Shadow AI to Governed AI: A Practical Governance Playbook for Risk, Audit and Compliance Professionals

AI is moving fast.
Governance needs to move smarter—and more inclusively.

You don’t need to have all the answers.
What you need is a safe, practical space to ask questions, share perspectives, and work through what AI governance means in the real world.

Join us for this interactive lunchtime session with Dr Pasan Thilakasiri, focused on the real situations professionals are already facing across organisations—unapproved AI use, unclear ownership, missing controls, and increasing pressure to provide assurance in a fast‑moving technology landscape.

You’ll leave with a hands‑on governance playbook to help bring shadow AI under control and move towards responsible, governed AI adoption.

This session also highlights how diverse leadership and perspectives contribute to stronger, more effective AI governance outcomes.

Why Attend

  • Understand the risks associated with shadow AI
  • Learn practical governance controls for AI usage
  • Explore how diversity strengthens governance and oversight
  • Network with fellow risk, audit, and assurance professionals

Speaker

Dr Pasan Thilakasiri is the Principal Consultant at HighFlyer, a technology consultancy based in Auckland. In his day‑to‑day work, Pasan operates at the intersection of AI, open‑source technology, and enterprise systems. He helps organisations adopt AI practically and responsibly, with a strong emphasis on governance and transparency. His experience includes leading ERP implementations, building AI‑powered business tools, and delivering hands‑on workshops that enable professionals and SMEs to move beyond theory into practice.
