About this event

Dear members,

ISACA Auckland's lunchtime event for April 2022 will be held on Wednesday, 13 April 2022 via a live webinar. The link to the webinar will be shared with all registered attendees.

Presentation Topic: Building the New Zealand Network for Women in Security (NZNWS)

Tash will be sharing the journey to building the New Zealand Network for Women in Security (NZNWS). NZNWS was co-founded in 2019 by Bonnie Butlin, Sai Honig, and Tash Bettridge as a network to bring together a diverse group of individuals who have a passion for security.

NZNWS seeks to encourage the advancement and capacity of women and gender minorities involved in all aspects of the New Zealand security industry and community, through the exchange of information and the cultivation of productive relationships. The primary objective of the NZNWS is to create a networking forum for women and other gender minorities working in security across New Zealand.

The NZNWS community includes all domains of security, including cybersecurity, physical security, information security, business continuity management, data protection & privacy, fraud investigation, among many others.

Speaker: Tash Bettridge

Tash is a Customer Success Account Manager in the Global Account Management Delivery Team at Microsoft NZ. Her focus at Microsoft is on the relationships and support with New Zealand SMB and SMC Customers and Partners.

During her undergrad studies, she faced challenges of being one of a few women taking Networking and Cybersecurity classes and she was curious to understand why there were not many women taking those subjects. This led to her completing her undergrad and moving towards a master’s which focused on increasing the representation of women in cybersecurity. Natasha is the co-founder of the New Zealand Network for Women in Security since 2019 with Sai Honig.

She has been featured in the Tribe of Hackers book series called Tribe of Hackers Security Leaders which featured other well-known international security leaders and uprising security leaders.

She has also won numerous accolades, including the Aotearoa DefSec Women in Security Awards for Indigenous Awareness Educator, Women in Security Awards Aotearoa for Indigenous Advocate, Google Women Techmakers Scholar, Certified Ethical Hacker Scholar, Associate Women In Science Scholar, Udacity Bertlesmann Scholar, and was invited to attend Grace Hopper Celebration as a Scholar and a Delegate at the Harvard HPAIR Conference.

We hope you will be able to join us virtually for this event.
