Presentation Topic:

Turning the CIS Controls Into Reality

The CIS Critical Security Controls are an internationally recognised set cybersecurity controls designed to help minimise cybersecurity related risk. A question frequently asked about the Controls is “How do we make them work in real life?”.

In this presentation, Tony Krzyzewski, Ambassador for the CIS Controls, will talk about the methods he has used with many organisations to help embed the Controls into standard IT operations processes. He will also provide advice on how to structure the Controls so that maturity improvement can be expressed at the Executive and Board level.

This IT Operations focussed methodology developed here in New Zealand now forms the core of local government sector cybersecurity improvement programmes in New Zealand, Australia and the United States.
