Topic:
Quantum Computing and Quantum Safety
SHORT DESCRIPTION
The rise of Quantum Computing has sparked quite a bit of interest in the IT community as it offers a range of exciting opportunities to solve complex computational problems. At the same time, we have had to recognize that it poses significant threats to existing infrastructure security and triggers a need to act. This talk will cover the following aspects:
- What is Quantum Computing and how does it differ from Conventional Computing?
- What is the risk posed by a rise of Quantum Computing? When and how do we need to react?
- What are the relevant standards to look out for and how to engage with vendors?
- What about relevant legislation and regulation, in New Zealand, Australia, the EU and UK?
The talk will conclude with Questions and Answers from the audience.
