Bio: JJ is an accomplished risk management leader with deep experience driving enterprise-level strategies in complex and dynamic environments. He leads risk strategy, loss prevention, business resilience, and enterprise risk practices for one of the world’s most recognized restaurant brands.
JJ’s journey into risk management is rooted in a diverse career path that includes banking compliance, transportation risk oversight, and extensive experience building collaborative risk programs. Early in his career, he gained real-world perspective through a variety of roles — from delivering pizzas in college to managing marine transportation risk — helping him build a foundation in practical problem-solving and relationship leadership.
Known for his hands-on approach and commitment to continuous learning, JJ is passionate about enhancing organizational resilience, improving loss control outcomes, and fostering risk-informed decision-making across teams. He leverages analytics, cross-functional collaboration, and thoughtful leadership to help organizations anticipate, mitigate, and navigate today’s evolving risk landscape.
Outside of his professional work, JJ enjoys spending time with his family and sharing insights from his experiences to help advance the broader risk management community.
Topic Abstract: Business resilience is a broad topic that JJ will define through multiple lens while emphasizing operational components of an enterprise business continuity and disaster recovery program. JJ will share specific experience across multiple industries while tying back to industry frameworks, best practices, reporting considerations, lessons learned, and other helpful resources.
