Title: Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Offerings and Benefits
Synopsis: Mrs. May Acosta currently serves as the Supervisor Cybersecurity Advisor for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Region 9. In this role, she oversees the CISA Region 9 cybersecurity efforts in Arizona, Nevada, and the Pacific (Hawaii, Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, & American Samoa).
Prior to joining CISA, Mrs. Acosta served as the Deputy Branch Chief at the Regional Cyber Center- Pacific (RCC-P) on Fort Shafter, Hawaii where she led a server team that consisted of Military personnel, Dept. of Army Civilians, and Dept. of Defense Contractors.
Mrs. Acosta brings to her current position over 20 years of combined IT, Cybersecurity, and Supervisor experience. She is a 2018 graduate of the Executive Development Program (EDP) with the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). The EDP is a competitive, 8-month long program usually open to GS-13s and above. As a GS-12, Mrs. Acosta was the first in her department to be accepted in to the EDP.
In 2016, Mrs. Acosta acquired a Bachelors of Science in Information Technology degree, then in 2011 she acquired a Masters of Business in Administration degree, both through the University of Phoenix.
She currently holds Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional certifications (CISSP) certifications.
