The world of work is changing forever. The concept of working for one employer, in one office, with one set of colleagues is becoming obsolete. Today, you may not have an employer, you may not have an office, and you may never even see your colleagues who could be anywhere in the world.
Agile, remote working, Zoom, stress, mobile phone, robotics, AI and Cloud, represent the world of work today, as much as the bowler hat, clocking in and out, the tea lady and the typing pool once used to.
This requires a different mindset, where we need to be flexible, and work well with others. It is not good enough to have sound technical skills, you also need a complementary set of Soft Skills, and be aware of Emotional Intelligence, Emotional Labour, DISC Personality Indicator, Diversity awareness, Non-Verbal Communication, and you will need to build and work with teams that span the globe.
Research conducted by Harvard University, the Carnegie Foundation and Stanford Research Center concluded that 85% of job success came from having well‐developed soft and people skills, and only 15% of job success comes from technical skills and knowledge (hard skills).
In this half-day workshop, you will hear from experts and practitioners in the field, and receive one-to-one advice (please bring along a copy of your CV) which will help ensure not only that you will survive in this Brave New World, but you will be able to succeed and thrive.
