The IIA Los Angeles, IIA San Gabriel Valley, IIA San Fernando Valley , and ISACA Los Angeles Chapters warmly invite you to our annual Holiday Seminar to celebrate the end of 2024 and welcome the New Year. This year's program will begin with a pre-event session focused on careers and networking, and will conclude with dinner accompanied by a discussion on resilience.

Our pre-event career & networking session will include an interactive discussion on career paths, leadership, and networking, hosted by ISACA LA’s Young Professionals, and facilitated by Debbie Lew. Our dinner program will include a keynote and panel discussion that will explore organizational resilience, and the leadership needed to navigate through uncertainty and change.

The dinner program participants will be provided up to 2 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits, a 3-course sit-down dinner (vegetarian option available), networking with professional peers, and participation in our holiday toy-drive benefiting Olive Crest.

Debbie Lew currently serves as Senior Vice President & Chief Audit Executive. She provides leadership to the department to execute the right work in partnership with customers and other risk management units to add value to the organization. Prior to Kaiser Permanente, she was a Managing Director at Ernst & Young (EY). During her 14 years at EY, she served in assurance, advisory and the national healthcare practice where she was the people leader.

Debbie enjoys and has held several volunteer leadership roles within the audit professional association community. This includes ISACA Global Board Director; Audit Committee; CRISC credentialing task force; COBIT Steering Committee (first female member); and President, ISACA Los Angeles chapter. She has also chaired the popular LA ISACA Spring Conference since 1998. She was a member of the IIA Technology Guidance Committee and currently serves on the 2025 IIA GAM Conference Program Committee. She was inducted into the 2024 ISACA Hall of Fame for outstanding achievements in Information Governance and Assurance and received the Eugene Franks Founders award which is voted upon annually among the class of ISACA Hall of Fame Inductees, this award is the highest recognition bestowed upon a dedicated ISACA member. She serves on the advisory board of California State University, Northridge (CSUN) for Accounting and CalPoly Pomona’s Information Systems and Cyber Collaborative Industry Advisory Council. She was awarded the Kaiser Permanente Finance Leadership Institute and Office of Talent Development Standing Ovation in 2020 and 2023 for her support of enterprise-wide talent.

Richard leads AI Governance and Risk Management at Protiviti. Rich has designed, implemented, and run global governance functions for large financial services institutions, with first-, second-, and third-line responsibilities overseeing emerging technologies, including AI, and working closely with business leaders as well as risk management, compliance, and audit to develop and execute enterprise-wide programs, policies, guidelines, and standards covering data and information risk.

Before joining Protiviti, Rich served as the global data and information risk compliance controller for a multinational FSI, where he enhanced and built out all three lines of defense to define and mature effective challenge processes, controls, analytics, and reporting across lines of business and supporting functions.

Danielle Yamane

Danielle Yamane is currently a Lead Staff Security Operations Engineer at The Trade Desk leading the incident response and detection engineering function for the organization. Additionally, Danielle sits on the Board of Directors as an Alumna Representative for the non-profit organization, STEM Advantage and volunteers for the ISACA LA chapter as a Sponsorship Co-Chair. She was previously a Cyber Security Engineer at Deluxe Media Inc. where she was responsible for security operations and managing risk within the company. Danielle began her career at Deluxe Media Inc. as a security intern, and additionally interned at The Walt Disney Company under their IT Audit Management division. She graduated from California State University, Northridge with a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Art. While attending school, Danielle was President of Layer 8 (CSUN's Computer Security Club) and captain of CSUN's Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC) where they won Regionals twice.

Carol currently serves as Cal Poly Pomona’s AVP for IT Security & Compliance and Chief Information Security Officer. She has over 30 years of experience in cybersecurity, audit, project management, and IT service operations within government, higher education, and financial service sectors. At Cal Poly Pomona, Carol is responsible for the information security and compliance management strategy and programs including the adoption of campus IT policies and procedures, IT auditing and risk management projects, as well as accessible technology and services for persons with disabilities. Carol also serves as an adjunct professor for Cal Poly Pomona’s College of Business Computer Information Systems department.

Carol is an active member of ISACA since 1996 and currently serves as the Los Angeles Chapter’s Vice President. She has also facilitated and presented at the ISACA LA Spring Conference and CISA review sessions.
|
Carol has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Master of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in IS Auditing from Cal Poly Pomona. She earned her doctorate from Claremont Graduate University in Information Systems and Technology. Carol is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE), and has the ITILv3 (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certification.

For the Holiday Toy Drive, we are partnering with Olive Crest, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to preventing child abuse by strengthening, equipping, and restoring children and families in crisis....One Life at a Time. Attendees are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to the event to support and participate in giving back to children in need. All toys collected will be given to the children that Olive Crest is working with. We encourage you to support and participate in the Holiday Toy Drive and give back to those children in need or going through challenging situations.
