Course Description:
This course aims to discuss Business Continuity Management (BCM) concepts from an implementer’s perspective using best practices and frameworks such as ISO 22301:2019 (Security and resilience — Business continuity management systems — Requirements). ISO 22301:2019 is the standard that establishes the process, principles, and terminology for BCM. This course will help the participants in implementing and managing their own BCMS that is aligned with best practices and standards.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of the course, participants must be able to
· Understand key concepts and principles of BCM
· Comprehend the importance of BCM components and their relevance to the enterprise
· Gain an understanding of key principles of BCM standards and other related
frameworks such as ISO 22301:2019
· Know the roles and responsibilities of key stakeholders of BCM
· Understand the BCM process
· Introduce common tools used in implementing BCM processes such as business
impact analysis and risk assessment as well as provide background on the
contents of a business continuity plan
Course duration:
16 hours, divided into 2 sessions of 8 hours each.
