Get Out of Way: helping customers help themselves with cloud transformation

When:  Sep 23, 2021 from 12:30 to 13:30 (ET)
Associated with  Melbourne Chapter

Customers are really excited to adopt all the newest technologies. They want digital channels, cloud and SaaS environments and everything to be integrated. Problem is, their security teams hate this. The trend in new software and customer interactions is for all items to be hosted in the cloud, all data outsourced and stored in data centres. This requires customers to open their firewalls and protections for traffic to pass through. Security reviews often cause long delays to project timelines. The vendor is sure their product is safe, the customer is sure that everything outside of their networks barricade is insecure. Our job as IT professionals is to guide, support and mediate to ensure the project can be delivered as quickly as possible and to support customer enquiries and help them feel safe.

From this talk you will hear stories from working with security teams from a vendor's perspective, tips on how to work through these and manage business and security stakeholders.
