About the CISM certification & exam

The Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification is one of the most comprehensive and globally recognised certifications in the field of information security management. Earning this certification validates your ability to assess risks, implement effective governance, and respond proactively to security incidents. 

The exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions that must be completed within 4 hours (240 minutes). Proper preparation is essential to manage your time effectively and perform at your best.

The exams are organised by ISACA Global and must be registered via ISACA Global. ISACA Netherlands Chapter does not handle exam registration or administration.

Study load

The study load outside of training hours ranges from 20 to 100 hours, depending on your prior experience and familiarity with the topics.

Learning materials

Candidates must purchase the official learning materials separately. Options include:

1. Order directly via ISACA Global at www.isaca.org. Please allow sufficient time for delivery and consider potential import duties and payment methods (credit card).
2. Order through ISACA Netherlands Chapter (€520,-) in collaboration with Security Academy, which includes:
   • The official ISACA® Review Manual (physical book).
   • A 12-month online subscription to the official ISACA® Review Questions, Answers & Explanations Database.

Optional add-ons:

You may also choose to include an exam voucher (€756,25) with your order. These additional costs will be included on your invoice along with the training course fee.

You can register 2 working days before the start of an online training and 5 working days before a physical, in class, training starts. This due to catering arrangements.
