In a world where pundits, loved ones, and colleagues seem to be talking at one another, this workshop aims to build skills in initiating truly productive conversations that lead to understanding and commitment rather than discord and distrust. Drawn from the work of Dr. Brené Brown, this workshop will give you new tools and language to have more self-aware, curious, and generous conversations.

In this SheLeadsTech-sponsored, ninety-minute session, we will help prepare women for leadership roles by:

  • Developing your own communication style
  • Utilizing different communication tactics in various situations
  • Providing you with strategies to getting your point across
  • Maneuvering sensitive topics with ease and empath
  • Building trust with colleagues by communicating authentically
  • Giving you tools for conflict resolution (e.g. what to do with ‘mansplaining’, interruption in meetings, etc.)

ISACA’s SheLeadsTech Program is a women-focused program which works to increase the representation of women in technology leadership roles and the tech workforce. Our key initiatives are to raise awareness, prepare women to lead, and build strategic alliances.

Women are historically and currently under-represented in the IT and Cybersecurity fields, often to detriment of corporate advances and future growth. Targeted efforts are crucial to prepare women to lead and share their ideas and voices to contribute to innovation and bottom-line growth.

While everyone is welcome to attend, the material is geared towards women in:

  • IT Audit, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Governance, Risk and Compliance roles
  • Entry level, managerial, and senior managerial levels
