The second event of the ISACA Northern England Chapter’s 2018-19 season will take place in at Deloittes offices in Manchester on Wednesday 17 October 2018.

The offices are a short walk from Victoria and Piccadilly Stations. A selection of city centre car parks are available near to the venue.

Bookings are now open and will close on the 12 October at NOON.  Please note as this event is held in Deliotte’s office, access is only permitted to the event to those members / guests who have booked.  To respect Deloitte’s security arrangements, we will be sending the bookings to them on the 12 October, hence the need to have a firm closure.

Please note that once again there will be a lunchtime buffet, served from 1pm prior to the first speaker, where you can network and catch up with fellow members.

If you book but are unable to attend, please let us know straight away. Late cancellations are as costly as no-shows and prevent other Members from attending in your place.  Please contact events@isaca.org.uk f you are unable to attend.

The Speakers at the Event are:

Danny Jones is an IT Risk Director with Deloitte, with over 13 years’ experience across industry sectors. His areas of specialism include IT governance, risk and control frameworks and project assurance. Whilst at Deloitte Danny has also undertaken several secondments in industry, most recently as Head of IT risk for a national retailer.

Topic Resilience: a fresh perspective

The Bank of England recently published a discussion paper on Operational Resilience; whilst clearly focused on the Financial Services sector, the paper represents an interesting new perspective on how organisations should aim to achieve resilience within their critical business processes including supporting IT platforms. Danny will provide an overview of the key messages from the paper, and outline some of the main lessons which organisations in all industry sectors can take from the approach set out.

Matt Harvey is an information professional with over 15 years experience helping organisations extract value from their information and meet regulatory requirements.  Having worked across the legal, life-sciences sectors and recently moved into financial services, Matt has a broad range of experience and is passionate about exchanging knowledge across all information specialists to foster holistic approaches to managing information.  Matt has also been the ARMA UK Chapter Chair, President and Deputy Director of ARMA Europe.

Ian Lawden, Security Consultant with DXC Technology

Following a Civil Service career involving both IT security operations management and a wider Service Management remit, Ian moved into the private sector in 2011 and has fulfilled a number of senior roles involving both information security transformation and information security operations.

With over 20 years’ experience of leading security teams and implementing security governance frameworks, his more recent focus has been on internal and external security delivery (supply chain) governance.

Ian currently holds both the ISC2 CISSP certification and is ITIL3 (Expert) level certified.

Drawing on his background in ITIL Service Management and Information Security Management, Ian will be sharing his thoughts and experience in relation to third party security supplier management and performance measurement​
