“Working Hard to Rest Well”
When human beings don’t know what to do they tend to do what they usually do, which creates all sorts of challenges for us to rest when we need to rest. Why? We are more tethered to our work than ever before. We are so used to working that when we finally do get the chance to slow down, to stop and rest, if we don’t have a plan for what we are going to do, we will default to doing what we usually do, which is to work. Ironically, this means we have to work hard to rest well. This course will explore why rest is so important and what you can do to experience it.
“Who’s Your WHO?” (Part I & II)
Once you reach a certain level of leadership within an organization the WHO you are responsible for is more significant than the WHAT you are responsible for. In short, people > task or job. Embracing the responsibility of people is a complex endeavor because people are far more complex than tasks. You can check tasks off a to do list, but you cannot ever check a person off a to do list. This course explores what it looks like to be mindful of your WHO’s future, to be fully present with your WHO when you are present with them, and how one of the most important questions leaders can reflect upon is: how does your WHO experience you?
