CommunITy Day
This is the 2nd annual CommunITy Day that ISACA is sponsoring.  It is a way for the members of ISACA to give back to the community.  This year the Omaha ISACA Chapter has decided due to Covid-19 restrictions, we will be participating by giving to local shelters hygiene packages to help support those in need.  See details below.

Dear ISACA Omaha members,

I'd like to invite you to make a simple Amazon purchase today that will provide concrete help for people in need in our community. There are an estimated 2,300 homeless individuals and families in Nebraska today, with the majority living in our surrounding area . Predictably these numbers have risen during the recent economic downturn and Covid-19 pandemic.

We NEED YOUR HELP

As part of the upcoming ISACA's CommunITy Day, our chapter is partnering with the Open Door Mission in Omaha to collect supplies for Mission residents. The Mission has an ongoing urgent need for basic hygiene items to distribute each day to people on the street as well as to those receiving shelter inside their facility.

Many of the items in the "Hygiene Care Kit" (below) are things we all take for granted. A toothbrush, soap, a comb, some shampoo... These are truly basic essentials but go a long way in providing simple human dignity to people in crisis. You may have some of these travel size products right now under your bathroom sink.

 How YOU CAN HELP

 The plan is simple.

1.   Register for the event at HelperHelper -  (Helper Helper [app.helperhelper.com]),

2.Purchase one or more Hygiene Care Kits using the Amazon link below, or gather the listed items individually and place inside a clear plastic travel bag.

3.    Drop off your kit between (TIME?) on Saturday, October 3 in the parking lot of Scott Conference Center.  Look for the red pickup truck and the ISACA Omaha Banner. We will deliver the kits to the Open Door Mission that same day.

This is a great chance to extend our commitment to the Omaha / Council Bluffs community by providing tangible help to those in need.

Thank you for your participation in this important project. We look forward to seeing you at the drop off site on Saturday October 3!
