Mobile Device Security: A Briefing

Mobile Devices including cell phones, tablets, laptops, and even cameras and personal activity trackers have introduced a range of wonderful functionality to everyday life. Unfortunately, from a security perspective, they have also turned into a nightmare, bringing blended threats to both individuals and the organizations where they work. The billions of mobile devices in use, expose (more or less) everyone on the planet to phishing, fraud, data theft, personal surveillance and privacy loss, corporate espionage, overlapping Cloud security risks and much more. And now those devices are integrating with the IoT including home systems and cars. Science fiction has become reality in only a decade.

To complicate things even further, we now have to consider not only what this means to us as individuals or business operators, but from a national security perspective as well.

So, this fast paced, and highly informative session will explain mobile device trends, the attack surface and vectors, known and developing threats and risks, common vulnerabilities and exploits along with organizational and personal security control options and recommendations.

Question and answer will take place throughout to make this an engaging and practical presentation you won’t want to miss. Everyone is welcome and no prior security knowledge is needed.
