As the internet has penetrated more and more into our daily life, the global obsession with connectivity has spread to the digitization of even standard physical objects. The Internet of Things (IoT) is nomenclature for all internet-enabled devices and products. The IoT is growing rapidly, but with any rapid expansion comes gaping security holes. These devices are now being implemented into corporate networks, with little emphasis on the potential security impacts and risks to the organization. Let’s learn more about the use cases for these various devices, industries currently capitalizing on the benefits of internet connectivity, the importance of securing IoT devices, and the potential outcomes.

Kyle McNulty - Cybersecurity Consultant at KPMG

Kyle has recently entered the cybersecurity professional but has already garnered experience with Web Application Security and Development, Supply Chain Security Assessments, and Governance Risk Compliance (GRC) in a short time. He is interested in emerging technologies and best practices including the IoT and DevOps and strives to immerse himself in those topics. He has worked with a number of different professionals across industries including healthcare, telecom, and technology.
