Overview:

Speaker will present current state of privacy law in Canada, as well as changes that are currently ongoing, including Bill C-27 and Bill C-26, as well as Quebec’s Law 25. The presentation will also discuss current investigations and trends (e.g. investigation of ChatGPT and restrictions on TickTock).
Learning Objectives:
Understand current and contemplated changes in Canadian privacy and data security laws and how they impact businesses in Saskatchewan and rest of Canada, as well as adoption of technology. Understand interplay between regulating artificial intelligence and privacy.
Speaker Bio:
David has a business law practice with particular focus on privacy and cybersecurity. In his work as National Co-Leader of Miller Thomson's Cybersecurity & Privacy practice, David provides strategic advice to organizations across Canada. As breach coach, David helps clients manage data breaches and cyber security threats; he also helps organizations build privacy programs and provides operational and strategic advice on cyber-incident preparedness.
