"Leading Through Digital Transformation" - An ISACA Regina SheLeadsTech Event

Please join us for our first ever SheLeadsTech breakfast event. SheLeadsTech is a global ISACA initiative which seeks to increase the representation of women in technology leadership roles and the tech workforce. This event is open to all genders and both ISACA members and non-members and will be eligible for 2 CPE.

What happens when you're faced with an opportunity to move from a business division to lead an IT division in an industry which has been slow to respond to technological change and where disruption from the side is bound to happen? You jump in with eyes wide open........ or were they?

Leading transformation is difficult enough, adding in the complexity of leading digital transformation with limited IT knowledge and as a woman overseeing a largely male-dominated division surfaced challenges not anticipated and acknowledgment that my eyes hadn't been wide open after all.

Speaker Bio:

Dawn Bloom, Executive Vice President and Chief Digital and Information Office, Saskatchewan Government Insurance

After spending 18 years in the travel industry, Ms. Bloom shifted her focus to the insurance sector. She joined SGI CANADA in 2007 to led the development and implementation of eService solutions for the independent broker network. These solutions provided SGI CANADA brokers with the ability to electronically send and receive insurance transactions. SGI CANADA was the first Canadian insurer to successfully implement eDocs – the ability to electronically send policy cover pages in PDF format to a broker’s system. Her team was awarded the 2012 Insurance Canada Technology Award for this implementation. Also in 2012, she assumed the role of Vice President of Customer Strategy, where the disciplines of customer journey mapping, persona development and experience design were initiated and developed. This role later grew to include responsibility for SGI’s broker distribution function, furthering the development of digital solutions for brokers. Ms. Bloom’s experience in inspiring and navigating change resulted in her appointment to the role of Executive VP and Chief Digital & Information Officer in 2017 overseeing the IT division and the corporate transition of SGI into an agile environment with modern technology solutions.
