With the advent of regional data privacy regulations such as the European General Data Protection (GDP) and California's Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the need for a string Information Governance function is becoming more important than ever. This discussion will touch on:

  • A brief history of the privacy compliance efforts and standards
  • Leveraging privacy compliance requirements to 'jump start' the corporate governance function
  • Designing a flexible compliance framework
  • The coming storm of privacy regulations in the US

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the 2019-2020 Chapter year will be held. We will introduce our new board members and discuss our 2020-2021 plans.

Speaker:

Jonathan L. Andrews, Sr. Dir, IT - Information Governance currently leads the Information Governance and Privacy Compliance team for Charter Communications IT Division and serves as senior advisor to Charter's Corporate Information Governance Steering Committee.

Mr. Andrews has more than thirty years’ experience in developing and deploying solutions that provide positive disruption to clients ranging from small start-ups to multinational corporations across a wide variety of industries. He has focused on the underlying architecture of end-to-end solutions with a focus on the data space and has worked closely with Technical/Infrastructure and Business Architects to define standards and patterns on which solutions can be built. His background and experience provides him with a strong ability to communicate both with technical and non- technical clients and users, and he easily and often bridges the gap between the two groups. He is a leader in the fields of data architecture, systems data integration and consolidation, data and information governance, master data management, information risk management, and privacy compliance solutions.

When not providing his expertise in the IT field Mr. Andrews enjoys cooking, travel, sailing, and spending time with his wife and their four incredibly spoiled pets. He also enjoys fine food and wine having earned his certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers in 2005.
