We have recently seen a notable shift in regulatory posture at the federal level around
AI governance, while also witnessing rapid advancements in development and adoption of AI
systems and applications. There have been discussions at the federal level about imposing a
moratorium on state laws that regulate AI, and creating an AI sandbox to allow unhindered AI
adoption, as some states have introduced additional AI regulations. At the same time,
organizations are looking for guidance on responsible AI innovation, particularly in the face of
the rising threat of AI-specific, and in many cases also AI-enabled, cyber attacks. This panel will
bring together experts in law, technology, and research to explore these trends that have
potentially wide ranging ripple effects for governance and cybersecurity in AI. It will also
address the key considerations for organizations for balancing innovation in AI with
cybersecurity and AI governance obligations.
