July Webinar 1 - Navigating a career with ISO family of standards
Summary:
CISA, CISM, CISSP, etc. are good foundational certifications that provide a path to job opportunities in the field of technology and security auditing. Adding COBIT and other frameworks to the mix can enable a professional to enhance their skill set beyond auditing and into implementation, operations, risk management, etc.

In the past, that was good enough and supported most of us through our careers with good paying jobs. Global need to legislate security and privacy has had the most profound impact on ensuring that those that are in the positions of auditing, implementing and operating security and privacy programs are competent and through continuing education stay competent in this field. As the technology, security and privacy needs in the world are evolving, the need for skills with depth in specific frameworks is the greatest.

It is important to explore and undertake certifications using ISO frameworks to demonstrate compliance with security and privacy legislation. By undertaking such certifications, an organization can demonstrate that they have a program in place to manage security and privacy.

An ISO standards implementer, auditor, and operator, a professional is required to demonstrate their competence on an on-going basis as a fundamental requirement. In the field of ISO standards adoption and auditing, there are many roles an individual can assume.

In this presentation, Sumit will explore some of the most common roles and how to go about adding them to your skills treasury.

The following roles will be discussed:
• Accreditation Body Management
• Accreditation Body Auditor
• ISMS Auditor
• ISMS Implementer (Consultant)
• Trainer • Certification Body Management
• Client Management
• Client Guide
