On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 5:30PM - 8:30PM ET, ISACA South Florida will host its Annual General Meeting in-person. The event is open to members, affiliates, and interested people in the community.
During the meeting, we will host a CPE presentation by a guest speaker. The chapter will also introduce the new board of directors, award scholarships, recognize special achievements and contributions, and review chapter activities and results for the fiscal year.

Our presenter founded a private corporation upon his retirement from the FBI where he investigated terrorism, Russian organized crime, drugs, espionage, and financial crimes, and was also a hostage negotiator and crisis manager. Before the FBI, he was a Regional Security Officer (Diplomatic Security Service) and a USAF (HUMINT) intelligence officer. He is an author and an expert in personnel and information security.

Vendor Management Risk and Compliance: Key Points, Best Practices, and Trends
Past events give us insights for currently known threats and hazards, but evolving technologies and innovative criminals always present new risks to manage. Most events (points of failure) that affect an organization occur with one of its vendors downstream. Risks exist all along the supply chain, and while entities need to comply with industry standards and regulations, ultimately the outsourcing organization is responsible to its customers for damages caused by their vendors. Therefore, vendors need to be managed to assure the financial, operational, and reputational health of an organization (to name just three risks). An effective vendor management program is essential to prevent or mitigate unwanted third-party incidents. Vendor management key points, best practices, and trends will be covered in this session.
