A review of Mine Super’s challenges and considerations on a four-year journey towards an improved cybersecurity posture in superannuation industry: a slow-moving industry in a rapidly evolving regulatory and economic environment. Supporting the business objectives to outsource the Group superannuation platform and put it into the cloud, requiring regulatory approval, assessing the gaps between the then current state and where we needed to be, through the process of identifying issues that demanded prioritised, pragmatic and CPS 234 compliant solutions, to their implementation and subsequent refinement.

Speakers
Callum Masson, Chief Information Security Officer
Callum Masson is a senior executive with experience in all aspects of complex project delivery, specialising in the financial services industry. He has led large teams across information technology, project management, service design and change functions. Having previously held senior management roles in Australia and the UK, Callum has been with Mine Super since August 2017. His portfolio at Mine Super encompasses cyber infrastructure and security, solution design and project management.
Paul Cook, Executive Manager, Architecture and Engineering
Paul Cook has over 20 years’ of experience in large retail financial institutions and software development organisations in Australia and the UK. With experience across financial services and superannuation, Paul leads solution architecture with a focus on stakeholder engagement to safeguard project outcomes. Currently, Paul manages the system architecture needs of Mine Super, with a focus on Cloud, SaaS, data and IT change management.
Wayne Ingram, Executive Manager, Cybersecurity
Wayne Ingram has over 20 years’ experience in IT and has a keen interest in cybersecurity. He has previously held roles in technology operations, vendor support, DevOps and cloud architecture across various industries including insurance, mining, utilities and software vendors. Wayne has a degree in software development from Monash University, a Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity from Charles Sturt University, and is currently completing a Masters in Cybersecurity.
Wayne is a Certified Professional with the Australian Computer Society and has a deep interest in the rapidly evolving cybersecurity threat landscape and its impact on commercial entities.
Toks Ojo, Executive Manager, IT Risk
Toks Ojo has over 15 years’ experience in technology risk and cybersecurity, having worked across the three lines of defense with roles in internal audit, external audit, risk, compliance and consulting practices located in the UK, Switzerland and Australia. He has CISA and CRISC certifications and has demonstrated expertise in communicating technical risk to business leaders.
