What Auditors Need To Know About Crypto

Synopsis:

A gentle and almost completely math free introduction to cryptography (making) and cryptanalysis (breaking) codes and the supporting controls to ensure it works as intended. We'll cover the history and core concepts.  How, when and where to use crypto appropriately, and things to consider in your audit assessments. 

 

Speaker Bio:

Rob Mitchell - Rob has extensive international experience in high tech and R&D since early 1990's, in areas of software and systems development, security, risk management and audit.   He has a degree in Physics from Trent University where he received two NSERC research awards for Applied Chemistry and Physics. He is a CISA, an active member of the ISACA Toronto Chapter program committee and a SANS GSEC advisory board member. His current role is Principal Security Architect in the Cyber Security department at BlackBerry.
