Session Summary:

Organizations need to continuously adapt and restructure in order to survive and grow. Strategic management is an art of survival and project management is an output of this creative art. It is crucial to understand the link between project management and strategic management and its implications for project managers in order to enable the successful completion of project objectives. It is one thing to say that a project is completed right, and it is another thing to say that the right project is completed right. So, this leads us to ask the following questions:

  1. How do we define success in project management?

  2. Are there different levels of success in project management?

  3. How can we attain the highest level of success in project management over and over again?

  4. What is the role of the PMO in ensuring that the organization stays on its strategic path?

  5. What are the critical success factors at a PMO level to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives?

This presentation provides a disclosure of the notion of strategic alignment and the importance ensuring that success is achieved when the right project is done right. It also highlights the importance of ensuring that project implementation will bring the organization closer towards achieving its strategic objectives.
