Session1: Google Cloud Security & Compliance Overview

Session Description: 

This session will cover the fundamental tenets of Google Cloud security including access management, infrastructure security, encryption, network security, DevSecOps etc. The focus will be on understanding Google's unique way of doing security and covering aspects of both security of the cloud and in the cloud.

Speaker Bio:

Hauke Vagts, PhD, CISSP, CIPP/US

Security Customer Engineering Manager - Google Cloud Platform

Dr. Hauke Vagts is leading the  Security & Compliance Center of Excellence team for the U.S. East & Canada. Hauke is advising Google’s clients on cyber security and helps them to be in compliance with laws and regulations when using Google Cloud. He has more than thirteen years of experience in cyber security with a strong focus on financial services. 

Prior to joining Google Hauke headed a team of cyber security and compliance experts at J.P. Morgan. He also  worked on projects for all the big banks and also helped other Fortune 500 financial service providers to manage their cyber risk. Before moving to the U.S. he led a team of security researchers and engineers at the Fraunhofer Society in Germany. 

Hauke holds a PhD in computer science from KIT (Germany) and published more than 20 scientific papers on security and privacy, holds security patents in Germany and contributed to the development of the GDPR. He is experienced with international compliance regulations and has a strong background  in U.S. as well as EU privacy and security laws and regulations. Hauke currently lives in New Jersey with his wife and two children. 

Session 2: Auditing GCP: Best Practices

Session Description: 

This session will cover the vocabulary, theory and practical skills needed to perform audit/risk/compliance assessments of cloud service providers (CSP). We will go over the orientation to cloud concepts, preparation needed to develop a sound CSP assessment methodology and the future of the profession as it intersects with technology forward adoption. 

Speaker Bio: 

David Sztyk - Program Manager, Enterprise Trust (Customer Audit) - Google Cloud

David is the lead for the Customer Audit function within the Enterprise Trust team of Google Cloud. He assists clients in achieving their audit/risk/compliance objectives as defined by regulatory and corporate requirements. He has more than 12 years of experience in the financial services industry across a broad array of topical domains. 

Prior to joining Google David worked at Bank of America in model risk management specifically focusing on the technical aspects of data quality, data lineage and data governance. David engaged with regulators on consent orders, broker/dealer separation, AML/KYC in addition to developing the technical specifications for model governance including backtesting and model drift detection routines. 

Prior to Bank of America David worked in the Financial Services Office (FSO) of Ernst & Young, LLP New York as an advisory and assurance manager within the actuarial practice serving property and casualty clients. 

David has an undergraduate dual major in Accounting & Economics, a masters degree in Management Information Systems and a masters degree in Financial Engineering, he is a CPA in the State of New York and holds a FRM (Financial Risk Manager) certification. 

David enjoys skiing and biking in his free time.
